I was excited to try Point Break for my brother’s birthday. Most people’s food came out okay. My grandmother and brother ordered the Hawaiian chicken sandwich, I got the Hang Ten Club, and my grandfather ordered the Johnny Utah. The waitress assumed my grandfather didn’t want cheese because he didn’t explicitly say “with cheese.” My mother ordered the tuna dinner. I enjoyed my sandwich, and the sandwiches overall were decent. Unfortunately, that didn’t make up for the rest of the experience. My mother asked for her tuna medium rare, but it came out very rare and had a spongy texture. Her sweet potato fries were not hot, and some weren’t fully cooked. She asked for the tuna to be remade, and the waitress said it would be. When it came back, it was darker on the outside but still raw, brig
Shout out to Point Break Cafe. It's located in the old Oysterette location on Portsmouth Blvd. just down the street from shops and Chesapeake Mall. My son and grandson were visiting from NYC and I wanted to take them for Saturday brunch before they flew home. They are foodies and are often sampling the fares of the 5 boroughs so wanted to go someplace that wouldn't disappoint their opinion of Hampton Roads food. Point Break was on point. Both brunch and regular menu were offered. Everything was well-priced and looked appetizing. I had shrimp and grits, son had chicken fried steak, and grandson had steamed shrimp. The only complaint the latter had is that menu didn't forewarn that shrimp were peel and eat. Portions were large and delicious. We had been to a fancy downtown eatery the night b
We had to wait at the door a little over 5 minutes to be sitted. It took over 45 minutes after ordering to get our food. The food wasn't bad. The service sucked. Never checked on. Had to sip my drink knowing that I wouldn't get a refill. Don't go here on your lunch break if you only have an hour. Ridiculous. They had no care in the world.
First time here. The vibe was great. The place was very clean ! The staff did a great job providing good service. The food was good but lacked seasoning. The drinks were on point. Give it a try!
Stopped in for lunch. Nice place. Foods very good. Wait staff on point. Will be back in the future. Got the club. Photo shows half. It's big.
