Plaza Azteca Mexican Restaurant Sioux Falls - E 26th St

Many wife and I had a date night and we went to the new Plaza Azteca Sioux Falls 26th St. Definitely didn’t disappoint! Food was fantastic, fresh and portion sizes were huge! My wife said the drinks were great so she had two huge ones! 😆 Our server was extremely friendly and very attentive! Highly recommend if you haven’t already tried it! The vibe in the restaurant totally reminds me of being in a Vegas restaurant! I know the west side has one. Definitely a new spot for us to continue going and I’m glad it’s on the eastside!

Overall had a great experience at Plaza Azteca. This is a newer restaurant and I got the carnitas burrito. The meat had a great taste and a nice char. There was great service, and it looked like the workers enjoyed being there. I also got a frozen margarita and it was delicious. The food is a bit pricey for overall portion size. If you want a more up class Mexican restaurant this is for you. I would say on average you’re going to spend at least $20 a plate. The torta Beria sandwich was very small for a $20 price tag but exceeded in overall flavor. But Birria tacos was very good for the price. I would like to see them add hot sauces, condiments, and napkins on the on the table.

I’m confused with all of the positive reviews. I think it only survived because of the hotels that are surrounding an the unknowingly guests. My wife ordered the chori pollo I ordered the steak rancalatas My son bought the fajita burrito. I did not eat my steak. My wife didn’t finish her food. Neither did my son three separate dishes. All three were not good. I knew it was in trouble when there was no salt for the chips, but I kept an open mind. Until the food came. Did we forget about seasoning? How do we not have seasoning on Mexican food? It was seriously like white people taco night. If I wanted white people taco night, I would’ve made tacos at home being from the south. Food was really good. Portions were about right and staff was really friendly. I would definitely recommend if you want great tasting Mexican cuisine.

Definitely a "best" in sioux falls!! Portions are large, ingredients fresh, steak is tender and flavorful! They serve fresh thin, crispy chips with salsa and a cold, creamy, white dip (something new for me). Service is excellent. Very clean!! Guacamole is made fresh at the table. Our new favorite for Mexican!!
