First time visiting Playa Bowls and it did not disappoint! The establishment was very welcoming and beautifully painted! The place was a little busy but the young ladies working were very friendly and polite to everyone. We ordered a Mucho Mango Bowl (absolutely delicious!), a Mango Power Bowl (delicious as well!), and a Beach Break Juice. The juice was good but I would have liked it colder. I’d ask ice next time. This was definitely a light snack to have before dinner reservations! Highly recommend this place!!
So excited that Playa Bowls opened in Short Pump — I absolutely love this place! Their açaí base is always a go-to for me, but honestly, all of their bases are delicious. The coconut base is a standout and such a fun switch-up. The team at the Short Pump location is consistently kind and super efficient, even when they’re busy. They also offer gluten-free granola, which I really appreciate. Just be sure to let them know if you need gluten-free, since there is an upcharge (a little annoying, but pretty typical). Overall, I’m so glad they’re here — it’s such a refreshing, reliable spot!
I have been looking for a reason to go try this new place out and today was the day! They were the perfect spot to go cool off with a smoothie and açaí bowl. We drove over and noticed instantly a line of people heading in, and although I was worried at first, the line quickly dropped down to our turn, and we ordered a kawabunga smoothie and an açaí bowl. My smoothie was blueberry, strawberry and banana in coconut milk. I love the freshness of it, and that the6 are using real fruit and not one of those syrups. My daughter got the tropical açaí bowl, it had blueberry, flax granola, pineapple, banana coconut flakes and honey. The atmosphere is really cute too, every beach like vibes, and decorated cute. I will absolutely come back again soon.
1st of all im happy to find a location in VA after moving from Jersey. The atmosphere here is always great, Service is great and of course the food is top notch. Staff are amazing.
Definitely not the best acai bowl, I'm definitely surprised at the quality of the acai base considering this is their specialty. Tha acai base was like course ice from a snow cone. Service was fast, decor and atmosphere was upbeat. I won't waste my money or calories on another bowl here though.
