Plainville Public Library

Plainville Public Library came into fruition in 1894. The building it's currently housed in opened in 1931; after many renovations, it has expanded to fit more books for the growing population. There are meeting rooms, children's room, fireplaces, and many seating areas. There were plenty of parking in the large parking lot; there were two electric vehicle charging spots as well. The building was large and inside was spacious. It's a very nice library but I noticed the hours are more limited compared to other libraries I've been to. I went on Friday at 3:45 and they were closing at 4. I went downstairs to the children's room. There were many books, computers, and toys. The area was spacious and a great spot for the kids. I have come to this library a few times mainly for the children's section and absolutely adore it. The children's section feels inviting and set up for engagement for kids of all ages. The programs that I have participated in have been great and well worth our time! The librarians are kind, informative, and love to interact with all the children. Highly recommend!

Feel lucky to have such an amazing library in our community. Love the place so much. Helpful and knowledgeable staff, a great selection of books for both adults and kids. You can even pick up the book in the library connection if the book hook is not in stock here. The seasonal exhibitions inside is also creative. And a lot of activities for different ages!

I was in need of a new library card, quick & easy process. The children's room was clean, neat, and decorated so cute for young children. I asked about a specific book and they found it very quickly.

Couple of great staff, others below average not trained to be friendly but they try to be nice, great facility. EDIT June/8/2018:" Congrats on your new role, and thanks for your responses to reviews. I think a few of the staff needs to be trained on how to be customer centric. One gentleman was awesome in helping out, while others I felt were trying to avoid any interaction. This was on 3 different occasions. I can only guess that I did not fit the profile of a typical person they would be eager to help out. Will try to stop by when i am there the next time. THANKS.
