The food shack is hands down the best sub shop in altoona! No joke I’ve turned damn near a dozen people on to these and they’re eating them daily at this point! Hard to go a couple days without craving another Italian sub (my personal favorite) but also the cheese steak sub and their Pittsburgh steak salads! Prices are great especially in this economy to eat a sub that in 1/4ths can satiate your appetite let alone eating each half of one for lunch or dinner (unless you’re starving then finishing the whole sub isn’t impossible in one sitting! No pun intended the Italian dressing is THE SECRET SAUCE, I order extra every time and hate to waste a drop! Treat your self, friends and family to a sub you won’t soon forget!

Great food, fun atmosphere, and great service. The waitresses were very attentive and got all our orders right, and there were 25 of us! The owner, Bob came over and greeted us and thanked us for visiting! Definitely will be stopping again soon!

Riding by on my way home fro Soggy Bottom Motofest and started feeling hungry, I could smell the food from over a block away, it smells so good I stopped in and ordered a burger. Not usually a fan of big burgers, because not everyone cooks them the same. But this burger was very good and the fries were fresh and very good. The server was awesome too.

Food is always great but service isn't always the best... bunch of ppl who all wait on tables together but don’t communicate about them at all… we sat at the bar tonight for over 5 min with out being acknowledge .. sadie walked past us twice looked at us.. didn't smile or anything but the least she could've done to is say hey someone will be right with you…

This is sort of a little gem. We had a wake there. The people were extraordinarily friendly, and the food was great comfort food. Being from the big city, the price is there seemed extraordinary to me
