I was hoping this would be great, but it wasn’t. Pros: The sandwich was big and can feed two people or save half for later which made the $22 price more reasonable. The Semolina bread was good. Cons: The ingredients (cold cuts, cheese, peppers and arugula) are kept way too cold which mutes the flavors and aromas when trying to eat a freshly made sandwich. Plus, there was an overpowering taste of Oregano which ruined the sandwich. Luckily I brought it home and let it get to room temperature before I continued to eat, but still there was the strong Oregano taste. Not sure if they season it with that or if it was mixed into the balsamic dressing. Additional $1.50 for the semolina bread and 3% to use a credit card.
There are sandwiches, and then there’s Pisillo — where each bite feels like it’s been blessed by the sandwich gods and delivered straight from Naples to 7th Ave. I went with the Parma, and let’s just say this thing doesn’t play small ball. It’s stacked like a luxury high-rise: prosciutto, mozzarella, roasted peppers, arugula, and that sesame-crusted bread that crunches just enough to make eye contact with your soul. You unwrap it in foil like a treasure, take one bite, and suddenly you’re reconsidering every “Italian sub” you’ve ever settled for. Bonus points for the outdoor seating — nothing says “power move” like housing a sandwich the size of your head while watching Chelsea traffic crawl by. Pair it with a Coke Zero if you want to pretend you’re being healthy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — the kind
One of the BEST sandwiches I’ve ever had…but you walk into this tiny spot, see the guys slicing meats and cheeses as the sandwiches are being ordered…choice of bread…30+ sandwiches…order, wait a few minutes, grab your bag and dig in! Wanted to eat the whole thing but had to work this afternoon but have a date with the other half later…Carmelo, the owner, came out and brought us some cannolis on the house…can’t hid his passion for what he does…could eat here once a week! Already looking forward to going back.
BIG sandwiches, BIG flavours & great friendly staff. Everything was fresh, high quality and well crafted. Lovely selection of bread too. Top spot.
Very great sub shop to stop into, atmosphere is very casual. Great service, I ordered online and it was ready by the time I walked in. I ordered the L’Aquila panini and it was great. Only downfall is that you can only get a full sub and it’s very large but it’s a great deal for 2 people!
