Pioneer Restaurant Cafe

I always wanted to try this place. It seemed to draw a good crowd. As luck would have it, the crowd was because the only other choice is a gas station hot dog. The service was slow. The eggs were cold. The toast wasn't even warm. They were out of corned beef hash. They were out of.....ready?......Orange Juice!!! Evidently we sat in the "No Ketchup section". The gravy tasted like the paste we had as kids in grade school in the 60s. It did deliver delightful undertones of week old burnt grease and dirt. The bacon was crispy. Cold...but crispy. That was the one redeeming feature. Disappointing.

I wish I did take a picture of the burger. It had to be over a pound. It was ridiculous. Beefy juicy delicious Best burger I’ve ever had in Florida. For an excellent cost. I have never been here, but I am definitely coming back. Closest a little early on Sunday, but I will make sure I get there in time.

We were just looking for something to eat. We accidentally found this restaurant. It's not a fancy place, but you'll not be disappointed. Delicious home cooking. Great comfort food. Very friendly people. I had the liver & onions. My wife ordered quail. Great sides & iced tea to wash it all down.

Well I was hoping for quaint dinner like food. It was food. Home fries looked like they were from a bag of frozen home fries, and dry. Sausage would have been better if you bought yourself some Jimmy Dean and cooked it yourself. Toast was generic white bread toasted. But it's the middle of not a lot so not much choice.

Stopped here and got breakfast, New York strip steak and eggs , home fries and toast. Sign on the front door says Cash Only , luckily I had cash. I did not ask if they where able to take Credit cards.. Was seated right away no wait. Service was fast by my waitress Tonya. Atmosphere was nice , a southern style with NASCAR memorabilia on the walls. Food came out in a timely manner considering there was eight people seated before I arrived. Steak was cooked perfectly except for no seasoning on it that's why I gave 4 stars on the food . Home fries where alright for being from a bag. Eggs cooked like I wants and so was the toast. Definitely recommend if you're in Zolfo Springs. Just make sure you have CASH.
