Superb 👌🏻 Managed to book an early dinner, busy Saturday night on Newbury St. Found this restaurant by chance in the morning with a sign out front that says “Boston’s best pasta since 2001” big claims, so I was keen to find out. Ordered for starters Melanzana Affumicata - Crispy eggplants, smoked mozzarella cheese, truffled macchiata sauce, which was rich and flavourful but not overpowering. The garlic bread sticks - which were slightly seasoned and beef and pork meatballs were superb, served in a marinara (tomato sauce), seasoned beautifully. Quite possibly the best restaurant based meatballs I’ve ever had! Now for the pasta and after being recommended to try the lobster ravioli I was expecting big things. We also had the fusilli bolognese ragu with the same pork and beef from the meatb
We stopped by Piattini without a reservation and were seated at the bar right away. The decor was charming and cozy, so we did not mind sitting at the bar at all. We started with cocktails. I ordered the Aero de carta, a bourbon and Aperol drink with a slice of lemon. It was bright, refreshing, and honestly one of the highlights of the evening. My partner had the Mezcalcello and found it fine, just not as impressive as mine. We were served soft bread to start and the staff happily brought olive oil, vinegar, and butter when we asked for it. For our appetizer, we had the mushroom bruschetta and enjoyed the flavors and portion. For entrees, I had the lobster ravioli which was delicious. My partner ordered the cacio e pepe and liked it as well. By the end we were so full that we could not e
It was an average place, and we don’t think the experience justified the prices. We spend 100+tips We went there hoping to have great pasta in Boston, but the pasta was far below our “best pasta” expectations. Normally, I would give 3 stars but the servers, bartender and especially the host were very kind and welcoming. That’s why I’m giving four stars.
It was my first time here, and the food was very delicious! We got the fig and prosciutto pizza and it was so flavorful and had a great crunch. My friends and I got different pastas and they all tasted fresh and yummy.
We visited here on a bustling Saturday afternoon and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. Spinach gnocchi went well with the rich and velvety spinach and pesto sauce. Black truffle ravioli was served in a mushroom sauce with notes of garlic. It was decent in taste but felt overpriced at 33$. Fusili al pesto was perfectly balanced with tender fusili pasta, stir fried mushrooms and light pesto sauce. Unfortunately, we couldn't try any pizza since oven was out of order but will come back another time
