Doing a live review as I sit here. Walked in and felt this may be the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant I'll experience in New Hampshire. The faint smell of incense gave me a good feeling that this would be as authentic as I can get. There was no one to greet us at the door, after about 30 seconds someone emerged from the back to seat us. The restaurant is cold and we must keep our jackets on in order to be comfortable. Upon reading the menu, every dish is Vietnamese. No pad Thai or lo mein, no fusion, just true Viet cuisine. They even offer Bun Bo Hue, a hangover staple of my family. I have an even better feeling about the food Started the meal with the calamari. It comes in more of a croquet shape rather than rings and tentacles like you might normally see. The flavor was good, I dont

Updated Review For a late dinner today, I decided to try the Bun Bo Hue ($14.95). Unfortunately, it barely had the funky chili sauce that defines the dish. Without that, it resembled a slightly richer bowl of pho with wider rice noodles. Not bad as a noodle soup on its own terms, but it isn’t an actual Bun Bo Hue. I also ordered spring rolls ($7). These had both shrimp and some tofu-meat approximation - not the new-age plant-based stuff, mind you, but the sort of fake meat that Buddhists have refined and perfected over a millennia of not eating meat. The rice paper was a bit chewy, but not yet stale. -- Original Review For a quick and early Saturday dinner, I stopped by Pho Tai Loc. At 5pm, seating remained plentiful. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet ($14.95), the quintessential bowl of ph

This is one of the more expensive places I’ve gone to for pho. I came in on my lunch break from work today. I ordered 1 beef pho and called 15 mins ahead of time. When I got there place was empty and my food wasn’t ready. No problem. I waited another 15 mins. Still no problem. When I got my food the lid to the broth was spilled all over the bag which got all over my car. Then I get back to work, I was given no utensils or even a container to eat it with. My beef was given to me in a paper container and the beef was FROZEN, had green spots, and the broth smelled old and rancid. I couldn’t even eat it. I worked rest of the day feeling so sick. It’s unfortunate, I get pho at different places at least once a week it’s one of my favorite meals in the winter but i had to say something. This was

The food was decent, good portion size and value. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of meat i got as i dug my way through the Pho bowl. The broth was clean and overall pretty good. Good amount of noodles. The crab rangoons were ok. The restaurant itself feels a little dated and dark. I’m not sure if it was trying to go for a authentic Vietnamese stall look or they liked working in the dark? I think i saw 1 lamp and most of the lighting came from sunlight. Overall the service was good and the food was decent.

I ordered the #9 beef brisket pho and a thai tea to go after flying in from San Francisco for work. I was feeling under the weather and wanted something comforting and that reminded me of the bay, and I was not disappointed. Although I didn’t love the texture of the boba in the thai tea, I enjoyed the overall flavor and the pho hit the spot. Friendly owners and a cute neighborhood spot!
