Pho Express Newport

I went in today and ordered a few items. Overall, I think the food is quite good for a food court and would come again if I were ever in Newport mall. With that said, the service I had was good. The lady at the register helped me with adjusting my drink order and allowed me to sample drinks before buying. Just as an aside, the two workers I spoke to are Chinese and not Vietnamese. Brisket Pho - 6/10 Overall flavor of pho is fine. The meat was not bad. Noodles were slightly overcooked. The broth had the correct flavor but didn’t have the body or richness of a pho broth that I am typically used to. Slightly too salty for my taste. Grilled Pork Vermicelli - 7/10 The vermicelli noodles in this dish were not good. They fell apart a bit and were not chewy. The toppings offered were quite nice,

Maybe the pho is good but I only got the banh mi and if I could give it negative stars, I would. Looks nothing like a banh mi, and the “lemongrass pork” was 95% translucent - all fat, i guess to cut costs. I like fat on meat but this was inedible. The bread was absolutely terrible and the veggies lacking. I wouldn’t pay $5 for it and it was $12.

Most of the food in Newport mall are over priced in contrast to the quality of the food they provide, so does this place. Smallest Banh Mi I have ever seen, little meat and dry, baguette is as thin as taco skin. There’re several Vietnamese restaurants surpassing this in Jersey City.

The pork lemongrass banh mi is so delicious. I’ve gotten it three times already. Also the spring rolls were really tasty.

I ordered this place a couple times my favorite is pho ( all ingredients is very fresh and soup so taste) service very warm and welcome in i would be back.
