Pho 60 南北越 Staten Island

my family and i love this place. it is such a hidden gem. they serve some really authentic vietnamese dishes that reminds me of what i grew up with in my home. they also provide tea, which i love. the interior is also very fun and provides a nice setting. this time i got the pork chop pho and it always hits the spot leaving you feeling cozy and satisfied.

The atmosphere was decent, but the food quality and staff behavior were disappointing. One of the dishes we received had a strong, unpleasant smell - frankly, it smelled like garbage. I politely asked to have it replaced. The staff agreed and allowed me to choose a different dish. However, when the bill arrived, both dishes were included in the check - including the one we returned and did not eat at all. When I asked why we were being charged for a dish that we neither consumed nor accepted, the staff responded by reading a policy statement and claimed that I should have asked questions before ordering. They refused to remove the item from the bill. To clarify: when we arrived, we were simply handed an iPad with the menu and told to choose. No explanation of policies was provided, no clar

I’m a huge fan of Pho 60’s Brooklyn location and was ecstatic when finding out about it’s opening in Staten Island. This location has private rooms WITH karaoke and has become my friend’s and family’s go to for intimate gatherings. The ambience/ decoration is stunning, the boss clearly did not hold back on making it gorgeous! The staff are bubbly and attentive. They recently added some new dishes which are flavorful and savory. There is also a large selection of fresh/live seafood which is rare find in Vietnamese restaurants, an absolute must try. I recently tried the Pho Special Noodle, and it was fantastic! The flavor was spot on, and the portion size was just right for one person. A perfect balance of taste and quantity. The host recommended the Short Rib with Black Pepper Sauce. While the presentation was appealing, I found the sauce a bit overpowering, masking the natural taste of the meat. Also, the price wasn’t mentioned upfront, so the $20 cost was a bit surprising. I also ordered the Pork Chops Noodle, which was absolutely delicious. PHO 60 might be known for its namesake pho, but the real hidden gem here is the Hainan Chicken. It’s absolutely worth the spotlight. The chicken is poached to tender perfection—juicy, silky, and subtly seasoned. Paired with fragrant, savory chicken rice and their house-made ginger-scallion sauce, it’s comforting, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The portion is generous, and the side of light broth brings everything together.
