Phillippi's Family Dining

My first visit here was around Thanksgiving of 2024, though Phillippi’s has been part of my life for much longer than that in spirit. My stepfather (I use “step” only for clarity) has family in New Kensington, and every Thanksgiving his side of the family gathers there. Whenever we were in town, Phillippi’s was always a must for him, specifically for the Birdville pie. For years, Thanksgiving schedules meant I spent the holiday with my paternal side of the family instead, so it wasn’t until later in life, my forties, that I finally attended my first Thanksgiving with my stepdad’s family. I’m glad I did, because otherwise I might never have experienced a Birdville pie (or more importantly, time with family I had heard so much about). First off amazing food. Birdville pie extraordinary it definitely has an acquired taste I loved it, it had such a different type of cheese that just sticks in the roof of your mouth. 10/10 on the birdville. Such fresh mushrooms and onions were used to top our pizza. My husband tried the beef stew and loved it, he said it was just like his great grandmother made when he was a child such good flavor and ample amount of beef. We can’t wait to come back and try more of the soups are waitress stated they change weekly it’s hard to find good homemade soup in the area anymore. Service was quick and prompt as well. This pizza place delivers amazing flavor and quality in every order. The crust is baked just right—crispy outside and soft inside—while the sauce is rich and perfectly seasoned. Toppings are generous and always fresh, making each slice satisfying. Service is quick and the staff is welcoming. Whether dining in or ordering takeout, the experience is consistently enjoyable and worth coming back for.

Interesting take on a pizza, but I liked it. Thin crust and gooey cheese, reminded me of a St Louis style pizza. And the wings were great too!

Great food. Love the birdville pizza. And bonus on the mozzarella wedges.
