Perla Italian Restaurant

Our waitress, Ginny, was fabulous! Very attentive and friendly. Our food was excellent. Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, Orecciette Italia, Chicken Parm, and pizza with pineapple and bacon....all were great. And the Arancini appetizer was awesome. Highly recommend Perla!

I came in by myself for lunch and had the personal pizza special, which comes with a side and soda. The fries were terrific. The waitress recommended the homemade ranch, which is is delicious. It was the best pizza I have had in years. Absolutely fabulous meal. I chatted with the waitress a little and she ended up gifting me a piece of almond cake. OMG! Utterly, to die for! Thanks for the best meal I have had in a long time!!!

I had seen this place on Facebook so I decided to make a trek to try it and boy, am I glad I did. We started with the Burrata. It was a beautiful dish and it tasted just as good. It was light, a perfect way to awaken the taste buds, with arugula, cherry tomatoes, Burrata and basil. Next, I had the lunch special which included a soup and personal pizza. The soup was a daily special, made with sausage, onion, cheese and broth. The server compared it to French onion soup but other than the onion and consistency, it didn't compare. It was far tastier! I'd go back just for that! I ordered a white pizza, with garlic and ricotta cheese added. Usually I like a crispy crust. This pizza needed nothing. It was delicious just as prepared. Experience was wonderful start to finish. Service and food were both incredible. My only feedback is that the atmosphere needs improvement- lights are too bright at dinner time. I recommend lowering them a bit. The walls are also in desperate need of even a few pieces of art. The stone work is so nice, and the walls being totally blah throw off the ambiance. We happened to stop in before grocery shopping during this crazy ice storm situation in Richmond, and feel it would be a great place to return for a date night if the ambiance was a little higher end. The lighting and the walls being decorated would help. We didn’t catch our servers name, but she is blond and has a thick southern accent. She was absolutely phenomenal. Attentive, pleasant, personable. She made excellent recommendations

We just tried this place since they changed name to Perla under new ownership and glad we did. Just did take out pizza and man was it good! We will be back for sure!
