Penny Hill Shoppe

On a road trip and lucked into this little Mom and Pop place. It's adorable! The staff are super friendly. The food was great. We bought a Monte Carlo, a gyro, and fried green tomatoes.. . With two slices of pumpkin roll for the road.

We left highway and entered Union city to have our lunch here. Happy & Satisfied. Ambiance of 1950. Sweet potato fries and Onion ring. Veg Salad, Super. Pita bread veg sandwiche. And lastly veg wrap. All lovely taste. Order for their famous green tomato fries. We did not found tasty. Ended with Straberry delight ice cream. We had our unique veg American lunch.

This was the 2nd time my Husband and I went there. We went there the first time to try the Italian beef and it was delicious and they were nice enough to substitute the sport peppers for the banana peppers on mine when I ordered it the second time LOL. I wanted to try something different but it was just too good 👍🏻. I wish it was more like a restaurant with a waitress that would take your order but you have to go up to the counter and order and seat yourself. I am not fond of fending for myself in unfamiliar places. I wish they would give you a to-go cup for your drink instead of the plastic scraped up ones they use. The Italian beef sandwich is big enough for two people and we forgot about that and had to each take half of it home. We split an order of fries and we had to take those home

I've come here a few times and I've been saving this review until I've tried a few different things because everything has been amazing! The breaksfast is the best around. Hot and fresh. The Penny Hill specials are all good and they are so tasty. My favorite is the Chicago Italian Beef and I also love thr Vienna Beef Chicago hotdogs. The burgers and sides and all amazing. And the malt shakes are tasty and authentic. Highly recommend this place if your in the area. It's a friendly 50's themed diner and its worth a visit!
