Penn Valley Library

Since some older posts the Penn Valley Library has moved to larger quarters in the same group of shops. It’s fabulous now with room for many programs. Staff is still wonderful, too!

Such great customer service. Library is small but the librarians can get you any book and are so happy to do it. The books they order for you come so fast. I never have to wait long. After going to Grass Valley library and being treated so bad in the children's area it was a welcome surprise the great service I get at the Penn Valley library.

Tiny & cozy. Pretty decent selection of books & movies. 2 computers. Children's corner. Friendly staff. Nice location. Super quiet. Not the largest selection of books, but they do an excellent job reserving & getting books from the other county libraries within a few days. They also automatically renew books that are not currently on hold, and they have a grace period after the book is due, before they charge late fees. I love that.

It's great to have library resources in such a convenient location. They rotate their resources with other libraries in the county so, even though small, their number of selections is sufficient.
