Penfield Beach

Penfield Beach is one of the 6 public beaches in Fairfield, however, from the Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, you must either have a season pass (open only to Fairfield residents) or pay a daily fee to park and visit the beach: $50 a day for weekends and holidays, $40 for weekdays in 2025 (I guess you could walk or boat in). I vist out of season and it's a nice, clean, beach, with a view of 2 lighthouses. It's a good sized beach to walk along, enjoy the views, catch a sunrise or sunset, particularly when barely anyone is there. Plenty of parking and not too far a walk to the beach (except when it's packed).

This is a very popular local beach. There are two beaches adjacent to each other - Penfield and Jennings, both are public. Penfield is a bit more tolerable with less rocks and finer sand. This beach has a playground for little kids. The water is very calm and very suitable for facilities with little children, which this beach is clearly dominated by. Public restrooms are here as well. Very clean and decent. Nice job, Fairfield!

This beach has a special place in my heart. I used to come to this beach all the time growing up in Fairfield and I used to lifeguard here for 4 years. I’ve seen it go through many changes with the addition of the playground, the pavilion and more. It is my favorite beach to swim and chill at in Fairfield. The sunrise here is beautiful and I highly suggest you check it out!

Great experience. Family environment. For non residents there’s parking lot for $40. They have a place to eat and bathrooms close to the beach. 👍🏻👍🏻

Lovely place. Very clean, quiet and beautiful. Also very convenient for who has kids cuz they have a huge playground right by the beach. There’s a nice place to seat and eat. If you’re not a resident you cannot park in the the most convenient parking lot but the visitors parking it’s just across the street and it’s $20 for the day. Not bad at all considering how clean and well taken care of the place is!
