Pedro’s South American food

I stopped in at Pedro’s the second I saw the open sign was on, I’ve been super excited to try it ever since seeing they were opening a location here. The second I walked in I was greeted by two very nice younger employees who talked with me about the menu, the restaurant, and helped make suggestions. It made it a very nice experience as someone who was overwhelmed by the menu and wanted to try absolutely everything, it all looks sooo good! I ended up getting a horchata and a breakfast empanada and both were absolutely amazing! I can’t wait to stop in and try more of the menu! I also absolutely love what they’ve done to the place the decor and seating is very cute and it was very clean. Beginning from the atmosphere down to the service that was barely present the entire experience was a disaster. I’ve been to Pedro’s other restaurant and food trucks but this new venue is off to a sincerely rough start. The service is nearly nonexistent and to top it off there’s no true bar, wine options or draft beer. It’s a cross between a quick service restaurant that fails miserably and a sit down venue… The “server” was only present when ordering beverages along with the dinner menu which apparently at 6:30 the kitchen was so backed up and we had to order immediately or our food could take over a hour to arrive to the table—yet the restaurant was half full. I wanted to love this place so much! but it was such a disappointment… their corn dish is canned corn (not elote at all!), no salsa as advertised… asked for extra cilantro and barely got any at all. ordered their chicken soup but it is like 2 spoonfuls of pure mush…

We’ve been here several times already and the food is phenomenal. Some portions are on the smaller side so order accordingly. Compostable cups and dishes are a thoughtful touch. So excited to have another restaurant in the neighborhood — wishing them all the best with this new location!

Nice place! Casual atmosphere. My food was fantastic. Reasonable price.
