Payen's Tamales

Not sure on the 1 stars but this place always hits the spot ! When I’m craving tamales , Chile verde , or even a good breakfast this place will satisfy your cravings !! Been coming here for many years already , authentic Mexican food , never disappoints! But at the end of the day everyone has different taste buds

Excellent food and good portion. Hospitality is different be pending upon which side of the door you are on. As the street sign that bares the name ‘Pavens’ faded away; I may have faded in my appearance from paying customer; to street person 32 hours later. The money in my pocket was on both days is green. Your eyes saw me fade walking away with $20 in the palm of my hand for a simple bottle of water.

Best breakfast burritos in the Permian Basin! I always get the Mexicana burrito with beans & cheese. It's the best! And I love their hot sauce, caliente!The owner and his family are lovely people. It is always such a pleasure doing business there. The food is great and the service is top notch. It's a small place but it's always very clean and the atmosphere is very inviting. Payen's is one of Odessa's best kept secrets. Burrito shacks are a dime a dozen on the west side but none of them can touch Payen's. They rival even the fancier Mexican food restaurants and come out on top. They serve breakfast & lunch and are open until 2 pm I believe. If you have never eaten here you should definitely give it a try. It's worth the drive and you won't be sorry!!!
