Patience S. Latting Northwest Library - Metropolitan Library System

The Patience S. Latting Northwest Library is a beautiful space with great resources, friendly staff, and a really nice layout. It’s a place I want to spend more time in, especially with my kids. My only consistent concern is the air quality. There’s often a noticeable smell inside. Kind of a mix of stale air, well-used books, and just general “busy building” odors. It feels like the air circulation could be improved. Better ventilation would make the experience much more comfortable, because everything else about this library is truly great. I’m still a regular visitor and appreciate what this library offers. I just hope they’re able to address the air issue in the future.

I have been having a nice bonding experience with my four year old grandson by bringing him and letting him pick his own books. This is a great asset to the neighborhood.

Very modern and open 'flow' can be a little noisy when high occupancy after school. They have glass isolation rooms to sit in to get away from noise yet still have tons of natural light.

I have been coming here since 2015, they have a great variety of books for any age group. As well as a very fun area for kids. It is a welcoming environment, and I have always had good interactions with the employees!

A really great library for kids especially younger kids. Lots of kid friendly play equipment. The patio is also a nice option in case your kids want to be a little louder. Definitely recommend visiting.
