Pap’s italian Grill

The family that owns and runs this restaurant are fantastic. The food always hits, and they’re personally involved in whether your meal is good and up to their standards. I got the ribeye Marsala and it did not disappoint. Steak was cooked perfectly, the pasta was good (of course) and we smiled and laughed with the owners the whole time. We miss them in Hondo, but they’re worth the drive to Lacoste. Also, we got the spinach artichoke dip and it was delicious too. It’s not on the menu though, so be sure and ask for it. Their pizzas are delicious, hand made, and cooked perfectly as well. Cannot recommend enough. Also the prices aren’t stupid either.

We stopped at Paps one day on a whim after a long day of driving. Turned out to be some of the best Italian food we’ve ever had in the US. We make the 4 hour round trip drive just to eat there. When they moved from their previous location we had to find them again. Added an extra 40 mins to our drive but we don’t care. Pap’s will always have loyal customers from us.

First time dining in at Pap's, everyone was friendly and kind. I was originally going to order the eggplant rollatini, and our server had informed me that it does not come with the noodles (since I've never had it before). I decided to go with the eggplant parmigiana, and I was not disappointed! Properly portioned meal and very filling. The pasta sampler is a great choice if you are torn between a couple of different dishes or if you want to try something different. I highly suggest the caramel fudge cheesecake to end your meal!

Pap’s Italian Grill is a small-town gem. The calamari was light and airy — perfectly cooked and not greasy. The pasta was rich, comforting, and full of flavor. Portions were generous, and the owner was incredibly sweet and welcoming. Great food and genuine hospitality. Highly recommend.
