The gyro was excellent, and the overall food quality was consistently high. However, we observed a lack of warmth and attentiveness in the service provided during our visit. Upon inquiring about the fries typically accompanying the gyro, we were informed they had not been ordered, despite a prior statement indicating they were still being prepared. During the payment process, the waiter's demeanor appeared dismissive and unresponsive. While the culinary offerings were commendable, the service experience significantly detracted from the overall visit. Furthermore, the waiter's persistent observation throughout our meal created an uncomfortable atmosphere, suggesting a perception that our presence was an imposition. The entire experience lacked a positive and welcoming ambiance.

This review is for a take out meal that we ordered. Had seen this new restaurant in downtown New Rochelle and since we are Greek food fans, decided to give it a try. The manager/owner was very welcoming and friendly and even offered me a complimentary glass of wine while I waited. Ordered our favorite dishes - moussaka and pasticcio, with a side of potatoes. The food was good but not great. I was expecting more because the Google Map rating was a 4.8 or 4.9. There are 6-8 tables available for customers and the decor is Mediterranean inspired.

My experience at Pappous and Yaiyai's Kouzina in New Rochelle was nothing short of exceptional! First off, parking was plentiful which is always a plus when dining out in busy areas. As soon as we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The decor had a genuine Greek vibe that set the perfect mood for the meal ahead. Driving home we were looking for a good Greek restaurant to eat at. We came across Yia Yias. The reviews seemed really good, so we decided to go. We arrived to find a cozy Greek restaurant and was greeted by a very humble chef Adan. He was so genuine and also our server. Well, we started out with homemade sangria and grilled eggplant. Let me tell you, probably the best eggplant anywhere. My wife (born in Italy) was super impressed too!!! We then had Chicken Souvlakis Platters. Talk about authentic and delicious……. We have a wonderful and delicious meal tonight. Everything was fresh and delicious. The owner and server were attentive. The owner was kind enough to give us a fried eggplant/zucchini appetizer and a fried dough dessert. 😋
