Paint Box Cafe

My mom and I recently had lunch here. The food was delicious. The place was cozy and very cutely decorated. Staff were friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this locally owned lunch spot. And definitely try the cream cheese mint cookies! Yum!

I recommend this establishment and will definitely be back to give it another try! The atmosphere is very cool, and the owner should be proud of what she’s built. That said, my first visit had some bumps. When I ordered a coffee, the staff member mentioned she didn’t know much about coffee—which might be better framed as “I’m still in training.” I went ahead and ordered an iced coffee with cream and vanilla, but received an iced latte instead. For food, I tried the chicken salad sandwich. Unfortunately, it wasn’t great: the chicken pieces were small and still frozen in the middle, the aioli was watery, and the bread overwhelmed the filling. So I drive OTR, and I had a stop done in Osage Beach. I noticed a Cafe heading in and decided to stop in before I was done with my delivery. That little gem of a cafe was THE PAINT BOX CAFE. When I walked in it was a cozy, laid-back place. I talked to Shae(the owner) and another cool young lady, and they were very pleasant. I ordered the Jordan sandwich, cookies, and a slice of some type of raspberry pie. The pie and cookies were super fresh and delicious. My sandwich was flavorful and tasty. The avocado sauce that came with it was absolutely delicious. Now, I will say, the bread it came on was a bit much. So it took away from your focus on how good the sandwich really is. A great place for a weekday brunch or lunch. Sandwiches and salads are a work of art with a taste to match. The citrus water is also very refreshing. The inside is unique and cozy. The owner is super nice and helpful. We stop here every November during vacation.

So good! Like going to that grandmother's house that knows how to cook! Repurposed vibe that's tastefully decorated with a relaxing atmosphere. Great people too. I'm tempted to sat don't get the carrot cake so there's more for me! But it's all amazing! And so happy to support a small local business! Couldn't wait to eat. So the picture is of my empty plate.
