Paco's Mexican Food

Oh, so very long ago this was an El Taco, a beloved small Tucson chain of Mexican fast food restaurants. As a kid, I very much loved El Taco, but alas with experience, luck and wallet comes an appreciation of a more refined cuisine and one can become an insufferable snob about what and where they eat. Well, I still love a good fast food taco and I'm happy to say that Paco's is certainly a far better choice than it's predecessor El Taco, far better than many of its competitors in the drive-thru fast food space. The place is popular for good reason: the food is good, but not over-priced. I did the drive-thru this time around, but the indoor dining experience is nice, too! Total bill $10.82, drive-thru, 2 tacos, rice & beans combo.

I have been a fan of Paco’s for a long time but this is my first time writing a review. I have three or so favorite items from their menu (breakfast burritos, carnitas, ground beef tacos). Today we ordered a carnitas burrito and the bandido burrito. The bandido was new for us and a new fave. It was a chile relleno, rice and beans all wrapped up in a perfectly cooked tortilla. Next time we will ask for extra enchilada sauce on the inside (it was listed on the menu but if it was included in ours it was very light. The carnitas were delicious as always! The staff is always super friendly and incredibly hard working. Highly recommend!!! Atmosphere not rated since we did the drive thru.

Fave place for ground beef tacos and breakfast burritos!! The food is always fresh and the taco shells are so crunchy! Pro tip: use both red and green sauces! 😊

Best of Tucson for fast, delicious, quality Mexican food! This is a review from a Texas transplant who grew up eating Mexican food. Since we found Paco’s, this restaurant has been in our family’s regular weekly rotation over the past 12+ years. Yet, we’ve never actually eaten inside the small establishment & have only ordered drive-thru. The frequently popular drive-thru is efficient and the workers are friendly. Husband’s pick is the chimichanga enchilada style with red chile. Kids love the crunchy beef tacos, bean burritos and rice. My favorites include the California burrito, taco salads, flautas, and carne asada plate. The only item I’m not crazy about here are the enchiladas, though they’re not terrible. Overall, we definitely recommend this beloved place!

A wonderful locally owned Mexican restaurant with a drive thru. They have very limited seating inside but their drive thru is usually quick. The line for the drive thru does get long during proper mealtimes (lunch and dinner) and can be hard to navigate due to the proximity of the lot to the street. Prices here are hard to beat and their horchata is probably one of the best I’ve had in town.
