Oyster & Scales

My friend and I visited on a Friday night, as a birthday celebration. The ambiance was perfect: dim lighting and thoughtfully curated decor created a cozy and sophisticated experience. We each ordered the Red Lady (sangria) and sampled soups and small plates. Everything was exceptionally plated/ presented and, of course, delicious! Our server Justin was friendly and attentive, and he made our little celebration extra special! Dessert arrived with birthday candles for each of us. What a wonderful dining experience; we look forward to our next visit.

I have never had a better experience at a soft opening. They really knew what they were doing. The decor is totally on point and takes advantage of not only the great views, but the natural and elemental feel of Ocean City We had a party of six we were seated promptly with a reservation and had excellent meals. The menu is done in the style of their sister restaurant, Spain, so, there are appetizers and small plates and large plates. Amazing atmosphere, down to the bathrooms. Amazing brunch. Good drinks. Great view. Service was a little slow (but great) especially for it being off season and not crowded, but for that reason they could have been under staffed. Other than that, zero complaints! Can’t wait to come back when it’s warmer and the garage door windows are open :) (The shrimp & grits Benedict was phenomenal)

Right on Target ….but…. The first visit to Oyster and Scales – Peter Elias’ up- market homage to a Nantucket seafood house was a delight. The nautical blue and white motif, old and new fixtures, the painted, exposed rafters and some well-selected Serena & Lily chairs made for a thoughtful décor palette. The anticipatory touch of blankets over the chair backs was welcomed, Ramon at the front of the house and Jason working the dining room made sure that the customer felt welcome. Server Angela’s tabletending was top shelf as was her “bedside manner” in reading the customer. My friend and I went for dinner this past Friday night for a girls night. Our server Felix was the absolute best. We both had a couple of drinks and shared some small plates and we loved everything! Felix was also our server at Spain Wine Bar for brunch two days later, and he was incredibly kind and accommodating!
