My wife and I decided to try this new restaurant in San Dimas called Origin Mexican Cuisine. I was expecting it to be remodeled, however it really was not much different than when the Thai restaurant was there, or B&J's restaurant before it. It is not their fault that they have such a small parking lot, but it can only accommodate about 10 cars and really there's no other place to park unless you go to 1st street where the undercover Sheriff's Department is, or park by the Walker house. The initial service was good, but the restaurant was incredibly quiet and not very festive. I overheard that there’s a new Mexican restaurant in San Dimas, and I was shocked! I’ve been living here for 27 years, and Casa del Rey has been the only other “Mexican restaurant” in town which, honestly, is not good and very bland. San Dimas has never really been big on authentic Mexican cuisine, and Casa del Rey is very Americanized, which doesn’t compare to traditional Mexican dishes. I decided to give this new spot a chance and had high hopes. I took my grandma, who lives in a small pueblo near Guadalajara, and she thoroughly enjoyed it! The flavor profile was amazing. I truly hope more people come and try it out! My grandma ordered the flautas, and I had the chilaquiles. Both the presentation and flavor were excellent!

I arrived on a Sunday at 12:30 and was automatically greeted with a smile, the place seemed a bit empty for the time but had a constant influx of people. The menu is on the smaller size but has many of the Mexican favorites. I believe that you can tell a lot about a place by looking at the small details, place is very clean, the chips are perfectly salted and the salsa is very tasty. I must say the staff os super friendly and very attentive. I wanted to try a variety of food so I ordered the Sope Platter and the Mole De pollo. The meat on the sopes was very tasty, the chicken, asada, and chorizo were all juicy and full of flavor. If you prefer the sweeter, chocolatier mole, this will be a good one to ta
