Oriental Star

The reviews are all over the place so we were a little concerned at the outset. Honestly, it wasn't bad. We haven't been in a long time so we thought we'd give it another shot. The food was warm and even though we were there at almost 8 p.m., there was plenty of selection. There were a few options that looked like they had been there a bit, but again, we were there late. I'm not sure I would make it a regular stop but there certainly didn't seem to be anything concerning.

Bad;The food has somehow taken on the taste of the stale building around it. The bathrooms were horrific. I took 2 bites when I got home of each thing.🤢 Good; The guy that took my order was really nice.. I got ALOT of food for 30$... If it would have been tasty- It would have felt like a good deal

To summarize alot of the reviews you see here, I can give some background. Most good reviews are very old because this restaurant changed ownership somewhere in the past 7 years. The original owners were amazing and it was honestly a very good buffet with awesome service great food and a wide selection. It was one of 2 Chinese buffets in town, the other was terrible. The owners of the terrible buffet bought out the owners of the good buffet thinking they could probably buy their way into a successful business. They did not they just ran the good business into the ground. This place no longer offers sushi or hibachi has a tiny selection and they jacked the prices to attempt to make money when the sales declined. Would not recommend going here.

So I want to start off with… we love this place. If we ask the kids what they want to eat and it be our “dine out night” they scream for this place because they love the variety they can get. The food is almost always fresh. And the staff is always friendly and attentive.. the only reason I give it 4 stars is because the cleanliness of the place is not the best.. and I would be very fearful if a health inspector walked in😭 because just from the few things you can see in the dinning area will have them shut down. I just really wish they would take care of these issue befor it becomes and even bigger issue!

Excellent service. Our waiter was very nice and kind and attentive. The food was terrible. . Especially for how expensive it is. Of it is fried American food. There is some little cakes and bananas and strawberry sauce. The actual Asian food was hard as a rock thick. Terrible sauce. Not good at all. Will not go back.
