Jan 2026: this is a great Korean restaurant in the middle of DuPont Circle. It's VERY difficult to find a restaurant that offers gluten free Korean food. At this restaurant, most of their food is gluten free!! Is that terrific or what! I thought it was awesome! Korean cuisine is rice based so if you use gluten free soy sauce (or tamari) and gluten free miso (fermented soy beans) and gochujang (spicy red paste), the food is gluten free. But it is surprisingly difficult to find a Korean restaurant that will make these changes to make their food gluten free. It's really wonderful to have a Korean restaurant where most of the food is gluten free. Our server, Grace, was very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. I had the galbi, which is marinated beef rib. I cannot remember ev

It was my first time here, and it was one of my most memorable Korean dining experiences. I had the 6-course meal, and everything was absolutely delicious, and the menu was very diverse. While enjoying my meal, I also was enlightened by the history of each dish, as each one plays its own significance in the Joseon dynasty. Definitely a must try for those really into Korean cuisine!

This place is incredibly classy, and my experience here was unexpectedly unforgettable. The menu is designed around multi-course selections, and each one feels like its own curated journey. I chose a course that fit my preferences, and everything was executed beautifully. If you’re unsure about the menu, the staff are excellent at explaining items and making recommendations. I’ve tried food at a lot of great restaurants, and I can confidently say the quality here stands out — especially with the gluten-free options I ordered. The service was fantastic, and the ambiance, décor, and overall atmosphere were absolutely on point. It’s definitely a spot I’d recommend for special occasions. So hurry up and make a reservation…

As a Korean, I was truly impressed by how authentic and delicious the food was at Onggi. I had the Onggi Jeongsik Set for lunch and the Black Sesame Ice Cream with Yakgwa for dessert. The kimchi stew in the Jeongsik Set had an excellent balance of flavors — the tofu and meat inside were tender and perfectly seasoned. The side dishes were cooked just right and paired beautifully with the bulgogi and the jeon. The bulgogi itself was incredibly soft and had such a rich, refined taste. For dessert, the black sesame ice cream came with fresh fruits, which looked beautiful and tasted amazing together — such a perfect combination. The restaurant atmosphere was warm and elegant, and I truly felt cared for. Thank you so much for such an unforgettable dining experience. I’ll definitely come back

I came here with my partner for an early dinner on Saturday. We had a reservation but arrived a couple hours earlier, and they still seated us right away. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a couple dishes a la carte (kimchi jjigae and godungeo) and both were very delicious. For the portion size, the prices are quite expensive. You are paying for the good service and upscale interior. They even had heated seating against the wall. If you can afford it, this place is well worth it!
