Ombra Restaurant

Second visit less than a month. Great addition to Havertown dining. Apps were outstsnding. Crispy calamari, artfully presented beet salad, and perfect artichoke heart. The entrees were chicken Luisa, shrimp scampi, farrow salmon and lamb chops. All perfectly cooked and presented. Their homemade pasta is the must have, even if just to share.

Chef Michael Cirafesi is a master in the kitchen. Ombra has it all-authentic Italian cuisine with some surprise ingredients that make you dream about these delicious offerings (especially the scampi and the beet salad). The decor is lovely. Other perks include: free parking after 6 pm, no fee for credit card use, no corkage fees, a taste of grappa after your meal. Combined with the excellent service, it may be your new favorite. The only small downside was the noise level but that could not really be helped with the excited crowd. The atmosphere quieted down around 8 pm. Do yourself a favor and get the chocolate cake.

It’s awesome to have this restaurant in Havertown! We love their sister restaurant (Ridicchio) and tried Ombra for the first time. Authentic, fresh, delicious food and great service. We also appreciated them being super kind and accommodating with us bringing our 10 month old baby.

My husband and I enjoyed dinner at this wonderful new little restaurant gem in Havertown. The food was outstanding and the service superb. Hubby chose the beautifully presented beet salad and the octopus with squid ink pasta in an arrabbiata sauce. He said there were absolutely delicious. My mushroom soup app and mafaldine (flat ribbon pasta) with shrimp and crabmeat scampi entree were yummy! We enjoyed chocolate gelato and affogato (espresso poured over vanilla gelato) for dessert. We can't wait to enjoy another fabulous meal at Ombra. What a sweet and special surprise we feel lucky to have discovered.

What a great find this small new restaurant was. Gems are also small I guess Food was prepared in a reasonable time considering how busy they were. It was cooked to perfection, and the server was very attentive. One of the owners came and said hello personally and ensured were enjoying our food. even the music was fitting the well thought out decort and the general ambiance and crowd. well done! will come again
