Ombra Cucina Italiana

Ombra has a nice atmosphere and the menu looks great, but our experience was just okay. The food was good, though not quite what we expected for the price. We were told the regular pasta is homemade, but the gluten-free option wasn’t — a bit of a letdown. The staff was very friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. Overall, not a bad meal, but not a standout either. We’d consider giving it another try.

Ombra is one of the best Italian restaurants on the island. Always great food and service. Nice ambiance. Outdoor seating when warm, no heaters. Front room features nice bar and tables. We like the main dining room, there is also a secondary room. Decent wine list mostly Italian reds. Overall, excellent choice for a great dinner.

This is my favorite Italian Restaurant in the Low Country and on HHI. ** Superb food presentation. ** Delicious and perfectly cooked. ** Food was hot and waiter was attentive. ** the Bucatini with crab meat was incredible. The flavors are perfectly balanced and there was ample crab meat. MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My husband and I went there March 1, 2026 for our anniversary. When we were sat, we had a waiter that looked to have 2 other tables. The waiter and the guests were all Caucasian. My husband and I are African American. The waiter was curt with us at best. He came and greeted us and and said that the specials were on the menu and walked away. I had to flag him down to ask for a drink. And even then he didn't come over. He just stuck his head around the corner. I also asked for cheese for our bread. He came over, dumped some cheese and walked away. We didn't even have time to ask for more. He didn't ask if we wanted any help with the menu. Purchased a gift online gift card for my parents through Ombra's website. It was not accepted due to them "mever seeing something like this" and it having to be a physical gift card. Then why is such an option offered on the website? Either education/training needs to be improved with staff or
