Waitress did not write down the fact that one of our orders needed to be gluten free. It arrived and it was not gluten free. So, 1 of our party of 5 had to insist that we eat while her food was being prepared properly. Nachos were good but plates were not provided. We did ask for some but they did not arrive until the nachos were done. Waitress didn't seem to care. Burgers and steak were good, lobster roll was good. Baked potatoes were small and unseasoned. Not rushing back.

Took the family here for dinner and it was such a great experience. The food was outstanding - my salmon was honestly one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Everything tasted fresh and well thought out. The atmosphere is what really sets this place apart. You can feel the history the second you walk in. From the framed memorabilia to the old newspaper clippings about the fire that once burned part of the restaurant, there’s a real story here. And the fact that the community rallied and they came back strong says a lot. It’s in a fantastic location and has that classic New England charm that’s hard to replicate. Comfortable enough for kids, but still feels special. This is one of those true local favorites that lives up to the hype. Highly recommend.

The whole dining experience was fantastic. Tina and I when late on a Saturday night and the restaurant was closed but they still cooked us food. I had the haddock Florentino and my wife had the scallops and both were perfect! The staff was super friendly and very attentive and the price was less than you would expect at a place like that! The whole experience was great and can't wait to go back!

We actually made a U-turn after passing this place - it was that quintessentially New England. An old-school inn with a brick chimney puffing smoke, cozy and inviting, the kind of place you feel drawn to before you even park. We simply couldn’t not stop. From the moment we walked in, the setting delivered. A warm welcome from the hostess, a massive fireplace, and charming vintage tchotchkes throughout the main dining room set the tone immediately. We were led to our table on what felt like an old-style enclosed terrace - absolutely adorable. Before ordering, we took our time soaking it all in, reading the thoughtfully placed historical artifacts about the inn and the restaurant’s history. Everything felt intentional, warm, and full of character. The menu looked lovely. And then… our serve

So much fun today Old Salt Sunday brunch 11/23/25. Make sure to make reservations! John was wonderful on the phone. I got the last parking spot 12 noon! Jam packed! We (two friends) had no idea brunch is served Sundays! Cozy booth. Great history. Marissa was a very nice, friendly server! Delicious buffet. The fire was blazing in the fireplace. Strained to get a glimpse of the mural recently discovered under a red painted wall in what was the bar/lounge. We hope it is kept and preserved after learning how old it is. We love the Old Salt.
