Old Riverton Inn and The Royal Coachman Tavern

Amazing dinner in the tavern. Steak was perfectly cooked and deliciously seasoned. Ambiance was warm and beautiful. Love the period details in the dining room of this antique tavern and inn. Spent the night in room 2. The room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Not a fancy place, but if you have a love for early American structures, this place has been nicely preserved. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

I got together with Mike, my old college roommate. We chatted for hours and took a walk to the river. A great time, and the food was very good too!

Best chicken pot pie ever!! I dont leave reviews but this was worthy of it and is worth the 45 min drive for me. Adding cranberries to the pie was a nice touch and the flaky bread covering was fantastic. Thank you Sherice for the email back. Wishing everyone nothing but the best for 2026 😁😁😁

My favorite restaurant in Connecticut. Owners and staff have always been such a positive group and I love how personable, sweet, and caring they all are! Food is AMAZING still the best most consistent salmon I've ever had. Specials are fun and add a bit of freshness if you visit often. I recommend this place to everyone!

The rooms were classic New England Inn. The continental breakfast had good selection no crap offerings. The dinner menu was varied enough to suit all tastes. By the way, I ended up with French fries with my portobello sandwich by a stroke of luck. You need to get the French fries. I will be back.
