Old Marani Georgian Restaurant Brooklyn

From Georgian cuisine, I had only tried khachapuri before, so I wasn’t particularly excited about Georgian food. But this restaurant completely changed my perception. It was divine! Order the spinach, beet, and eggplant salad, khinkali kalakuri, and lula kebab — that’s more than enough for three people, but we finished it just the two of us, only because my man can eat a lot 😄 This is definitely a place we’ll come back to more than once. The waitress was quick and friendly.

We like to visit different places with our company and have already been to the neighboring Argo in the past, X Factory next block was booked for a party, and the reviews of the Old Marani were magnificent. So it was an easy choice. Well, I would say that some of those reviews were a bit exaggerated. With all due respect, I can not give 5 stars to this place. Salads and kharcho soup were great, but both khachapuri were way too salty. Mind you, they were good, with plenty of cheese and cooked very well, but just too salty. That was very unexpected. This is the best Georgian restaurant we have ever been to. My husband and I go there almost every weekend, and every time this place amazes us with its food, atmosphere, and wonderful staff. It is definitely a place we would recommend to everyone.

I had the most incredible Georgian food today. The khinkali was plump, juicy, so much flavor. The chicken was super tender, really well seasoned….and the bread was Soft, warm, a little crisp on the outside
