Okeechobee County Public Library

Small but clean town library. There are a few meeting rooms that usually require advance reservations to use. The environment is not conducive to studying because visitors don't whisper when they speak. Also, pilates classes are done within the common area, and although the background music is played softly, participants chit-chat, making it a noisy place to be.

The library is proportionate to the town, not the biggest. It was well kept and the ambient volume was lower than your average library. As someone who has trouble focusing, I didn't get distracted not one time while i was here. The guy asleep in the chair didn't even snore. It was great, 10/10 would borrow books again

This is a small library, but it has a very good selection of popular authors and fiction books, including large print editions. When they don't have the specific book I want, they gladly ship it in from one of the other libraries in their network, a service I use often. They have a usable and robust website that allows readers to search the local stacks and all books in the library's network; place books on hold; see books you've checked out and their due dates; rate books; and lots more. Hint: Adjust privacy settings to keep a running history of books you've read, which is very convenient for heavy readers. A decent selection of DVDs and audio books is also available. The library always seems to have something going on like mystery rooms and reading raffles. They also offer free WiFi. I

Best Library I've seen and have used. The staff are my friends!! High fives to all!! I get my books on line. If they don't have the one's that I'd like they put me on the waiting list. I love that you can ask someone anything and they are very professional and helpful. Shelly H.

This library is one of my favorite places to go to in Okeechobee. They have a great summer reading contest going on. Great time to get on board the library train. Movies count too! Karen was very helpful in getting me a new library card. It was only $2 to replace it.
