Oka Sushi

Oka Sushi is a fantastic place to get sushi. The rolls taste fresh, there is a nice variety of speciality rolls and regular rolls, and plenty of other menu options as well. The location is right on the avenue so there is parking around the restaurant and is a nice place to walk around afterwards.

Wow! I am thoroughly impressed with this restaurant. We were driving home to Gilbert from Payson and decided to make a pit stop for lunch in Fountain Hills. Sushi sounded like the perfect cuisine after a day of strenuous hiking. First off, this place is absolutely gorgeous. Painted cement floors, large comfy booths, not to mention the beautiful artificial Bonsai tree in the center of the restaurant. Like another reviewer said, I'm not much on fake plants, but this was a nice touch and not too tacky. The service was pretty good, our server Emily checked in on us quite a bit. However, the best part of the experience was the food. I started with the Baked Scallop Dynamite Roll, which was phenomenal. My Dad loved his Lunch Fried Rice with Chicken as well. We had a fabulous lunch today with excellent service from Niki and Julian. Food was great, drinks were amazing and the service was top notch!

Updated Review: Used to frequent this location when we lived in FH. However, this place now is lackluster at this point.. ingredients weren't fresh and the vibes were questionable. The manager who seemed to be running the shift infectiously brought the team down. From the moment we walked in, we almost walked out. Especially when that manager just stood at the front of house, no enthusiasm, just dreary. Looked right at us, chose not to greet us, and turned his back to return to the kitchen. Then proceeds to not round the tables and make sure the patrons were OK when the place was bustling. Just a sloppy individual who quite frankly, had weird vibes that seemed to bring the overall team down. His attitude alone made us question just turning our backs to walk out as quickly as he did to us.

Enjoyed a nice lunch out on the sunny patio. The vegetable roll was the best I have ever had in 10 years of being vegetarian!
