⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fresh sushi, flavorful ramen, and a hidden gem in Philly! I visited Oishii Sushi & Ramen and it quickly became one of my favorite spots for sushi and Japanese comfort food in the city. Everything tasted fresh, looked absolutely beautiful, and was full of flavor. The only small downside is the seating area is a bit limited, so it can feel tight when it gets busy — but honestly the food is absolutely worth the visit at any time. 💁🏻♀️ Here’s what I tried: 🥗 Oishii Poke Bowl Fresh, colorful, and packed with flavor. The fish tasted incredibly fresh and the mix of toppings added great texture and balance. 🍣 Inari Light, slightly sweet tofu pockets filled with seasoned rice. Simple but delicious and very satisfying. 🥟 Gyoza Perfectly pan-fried dumplings — crispy on the outside and ju
Tiny little cozy place. Not the best ramen I’ve ever had but solid and worth it. I got the black ramen. Great mix of everything, and a bit of everything, in the bowl. Plenty of ramen. The pork slices were a perfect balance of meat and fat and the lightly marinated egg was perfectly jammy. The portion was perfect for me to be able to finish it all but satisfied and not overfull. (For reference, I can make 2-3 meals out of a standard American chain restaurant portion.)
Good sushi, open pretty late, with friendly staff. From walking in to check was about 18 minutes. I ordered the gyoza which was steamed and served with some soy sauce. I ate those hurriedly but didn’t have to wait long before my roll came out. I ordered the Volcano roll. It was good enough for me to be sitting here contemplating whether or not it’s rude for me to ask them for a second roll as they start to clean up for the night.
Amazing sushi. We had the tuna and salmon rolls with a side of green salad. The rolls were perfectly made with a hearty ratio of fish to rice. I could have gotten just one roll and been full. The amount of fish they include in their rolls, plus the quality and freshness, was impeccable. Certainly one of the best sushi rolls I’ve had!
What a lovely little shop. It smells delicious to start, and the smells don’t lie. I had the Tonkatsu (my regular regardless of the city I’m in) and it was sublime. Fast service. Sushi also looked great.
