One of the few kosher spots in DC, but it feels like the staff couldn’t care less about customers. Walked in on a chilly evening and the restaurant was absolutely freezing inside – no heat on, had to keep our coats on the whole time. The shawarma and falafel looked tired and reheated, like they’d been sitting out too long, with zero freshness or flavor pop. Overhyped for what it is; won’t be rushing back.
I'm craving some delicious Middle Eastern food now! 🍴 Here's my review: *5/5 stars - A Taste of the Middle East in Washington If you're looking for authentic, mouth-watering Middle Eastern cuisine at an affordable price, look no further! This hidden gem serves up a wide variety of traditional dishes that will transport your taste buds to the bustling streets of Beirut or Damascus. The menu is extensive, with plenty of options for vegetarians and meat-lovers alike. I went with the classic Shawarma platter, which came loaded with tender, juicy chicken, crispy falafel, creamy hummus, and fresh veggies, all wrapped in warm pita bread. The portion was generous, and the flavors were spot on. The prices are incredibly reasonable, with most entrees falling in the $10-$15 range. You can easily
Food was good. Staff are very nice. The place officially closing at 9pm, but since we got there around 8:45pm, they told us we can stay until we finish to eat. We took Shawarma and kebab plates. Which come with rice and salads and 2 Pita. Nice big plates which you can choose what salads to have with the Shawarma or the kebab. They have a nice selection of Israeli salads. They make the kebab there (not from frozen) and it tastes good. Overall good Israeli food. I recommend!
Wow, this spot is incredible. Great shawarma and falafel with fresh and delicious salads. The portions are also very generous for the price. I’ll absolutely be back to try the kabob and sabich. Some friendly advice to the restaurant: you should consider removing your window decals, updating your decor and brightening up your branding; I’ve passed your restaurant a bunch of times and never thought to enter because I thought it looked dark and closed. Your food is great — you just need to update the vibes to match!
Very good takeaway spot that fills the void Astor (restaurant previously in this location) left. To be honest, much more flavorful and interesting menu compared to Astor. So many different ways to build your meal here and staff is willing to explain what is what as there are a lot of new options Good food. Come and eat it. Pita is a must.
