Ocean Prime

Our first dinner at Ocean Prime Orlando on February 13th was truly special. We recently moved from Michigan, and Ocean Prime was our favorite restaurant in Michigan. Of course, we were curious – would the same quality and atmosphere be maintained here in Orlando? From the very first minute, it was clear – yes, this is the same Ocean Prime we love. Our server, Stephen, was incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. As always, I ordered my favorite cocktail with bubbles and berries – it's beautifully presented, light, and delicious. The crab cake was simply amazing: tender, juicy, and rich in flavor. Mandy was amazing and such a crucial part in helping us decide on what to order. The appetizer we had was the surf and turf. While my husband enjoyed the scallops, the short rib was cold and I did not enjoy it. We sent it back. The entrees were delicious and flavorful. I had the roasted chicken and my husband had the Riley. Both were cooked to perfection. The sides were pretty good as well. Miso chili roasted broccoli was incredible! The jalapeño au gratin was piping hot, a little too salty but overall good when paired with the broccoli.

We really enjoyed our food and experience here. The waiter was very sweet and brought us a little crumb catcher to take home because we commented on it when he cleaned our table. We were celebrating a birthday and one of our desserts came with a birthday chocolate, a candle, and some dry ice to make it look fancy - and it was free! There were two things that brought our rating down a little. 1. The hosts at the front of the restaurant didn’t greet us or welcome us. We waited several minutes before they acknowledged us in any way. 2. The scallop dish that I got was WAY too salty. The scallops and the risotto both - you could visibly see the salt on the plate. Still, we would probably return for a special occasion and try some different items on the menu.

First time at Ocean Prime for my fiancé Steven’s 40 birthday. Let me start by saying an AMAZING experience from start to finish! We were sat at a beautiful table, everyone greeting along the way with “happy birthday”. We were greeted by Sam who was very friendly and brought us our waters. Our server Stephen then came over and what a nice, genuine human! He greeted us (same name and had just celebrated his 40th), went through drinks and we received those first. We had the Black Orchid martini (pictured below), great balance and the ice sphere with the edible flowers was a pretty touch. We then had appetizers. First let me say the beginning of the reservation was horrible! The man who is in charge of searing people and making decisions was beyond rude! I don’t expect bad behavior in a place like this but it was terrible. We had a 5:30 reservation and were finally seated at 5:50. I didn’t like the table as we were stuck where people would have been crashing into us so I asked to be moved. He came and argued with me and told me raisins all you can have except one more round table further in the restaurant. I said fine we will take it and had to wait another 10 minutes. I’ve NEVER been argued with in a 5 star restaurant and the management team needs to look at who they have talking to the patrons because this is a pervasive issue in the reviews.
