Ordered some appetizers (& drinks) including clams, crab cakes, charred octopus, and some lobster bisque. Portions were generous for appetizers, clams have room for improvement yet the broth they come in is very good and takes on the spices and flavor of the sausage, however the heavy chorizo presence is an overwhelming flavor for the clam itself. The crabcakes had a perfect crab ratio and were cooked well at high heat for nice char, unfortunately the octopus was a bit chewy and the rub a bit heavy but the bed of Arugula added a good balance. Finally, the lobster bisque, has a very liquidy consistency and resembles more of a broth than an actual bisque while sporting one piece of lobster. Old fashioned was great and had very cute personalized touch with their logos on the ice cubes themsel
First time, we stopped by during our anniversary weekend for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Not only is the food great, service is top knotch and the attention to detail is appreciated. Pleasant atmosphere with very nice live music that adds to the experience instead of overpowering it. In a world where professionalism is hard to find, there's none lacking here.
Our waiter Gabe was knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is very allergy safe. However my girlfriend is celiac and has a shellfish allergy, note that the fryer is the same for gluten free and shellfish. They do still have a lot of options for both and our meals were delicious 🐟
I live on the East coast of Florida but when we visited Naples, Oar & Iron was first on my list for restaurants to try due to their ability to cater to gluten free/celiac people. All of the menu is either naturally GF or can be made gluten free. They take gluten allergy very seriously as my server Lorin was explaining to me. Lorin and the kitchen staff made me feel very secure eating here. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more safe eating out. I can’t remember this last time I had French fries made in a dedicated celiac fryer. I’m soooooo happy we came here!!! Meals with allergy have little wooden “allergy” things for extra reassurance.
We had a very good time at oar & iron. The food was amazing. We had the coconut Shrimp as appetizer, which were fried on point, not dry or chewy at all. As Main dish, we had Baby ribs, they were super soft and tender and could easily be removed from the bone. The Pasta was also amazing. They also made sure that my food was Gluten free and even the Chef himself brought the Gluten free food to our table. We felt very well taken care of by the waiter as well. A perfect meal and ending to our trip to Naples.
