Oak Island Sub Shop

The good: Solid sub. I had the Italian. I am huge fan of cold subs, with an Italian being my favorite. The 6 inch seemed huge! My youngest daughter got the kids meal sub. It was a big sub too. They also have Deep River potato chips, which are elite. The disappointing: My oldest daughter got the quesadilla. It was one tortilla folded over and cut into four pieces. It was pitiful. The cheese pizza my middle daughter got was okay. Summary: Subs are good. If you get a kids meal go with the sandwich.

Our family ate lunch at Oak Island Sub Shop during our recent stay in Oak Island. My mother and I both ordered the Italian sub, my father the club, and my husband the Ruben. Meats and cheeses are fresh. All of our sandwiches were delicious, and I can say that because I had a bite of both my husband and father's subs as they both looked so good, I wasn't about to pass up the offer. Of the 3, I will say the Italian was my favorite, but I think that is just a matter of what kind of sub you like best. The service was great and the restaurant was clean, even at a busy lunch time. Our food came out very quickly and was all correct, which was another plus. I ordered pasta salad to go with my sub, but unfortunately it wasn't my favorite and tasted like it was store bought. After seeing the reviews for this place, I decided it would be worth a try. I skipped lunch, so I was starving and it was 3:30 after coming off the beach I called the restaurant at 3:45 and asked, was it too late to put my order in for them to make a sub before four and they were more than happy and willing and told me they will wait for me to get there. I drove up there in seven minutes and my son was handed to me and I brought it back home and it was one of the best subs I’ve ever had.

Ordered the French dip - and amazing doesn't begin to cover it! It was absolutely delicious! Sherry and her staff are absolutely amazing - will definitely be back! This shop does not disappoint!

This is my go to place for sandwiches. No matter the season this place delivers on freshness, flavor and now what is called old time service. Who ever is managing and hiring has it down. Every staff member is polite provides eye contact and is helpful.
