Numero Uno is the best thick crust pizza in California and I have tried almost all of them in our travels. I love thick crust and it is hard to find the real thing. This is it. Now, it is not deep crust like in Chicago where it is more like a casserole than a pizza. This is pizza with a thick crust, slightly sweet with the best cheese and toppings. The service is always great. It does not matter if you order take away, dine there or have it delivered, it is always perfect, just the way you ordered it. We have been to this one at least 20 times. It is just so good. They also have great pastas and salad. The place is clean and comfortable. It is not usually crowded at all, I think they might be struggling. So go there. They deserve your business. Have a great time.
The deep-dish dough was extremely sweet—almost overpowering. You could taste far more cheese than sauce or toppings. We ordered pepperoni, but there was barely any on the pizza. Would not go back for pizza here.
After years of thinking that Numero Uno didn't exist, we found one in North Hollywood. My sister's and I use to go to the one in the San Gabriel Valley. The pizza was just as delicious as I remember it! We enjoyed it along with a dinner salad and veggie soup. We bought 2 small pizzas to take to my sisters. The service was fast and friendly. We will be returning. 🥰
I've been going here for 20+ years. Unfortunately the quality of the food has dropped in Recent years. My last order tasted like old pizza dough.
The pizza here was absolutely phenomenal. I did not expect thick crust pizzas, so i was kind of taken aback at the sheer amount of food that I was served. I had to call in my roommate to make sure it didn't go to waste! The crust was so well made, it was, on its own, really well made bread. I could have eaten it on its own. The cheese, the sauce, the toppings, all were excellent, especially the sliced tomato toppings. The perfect amount of juiciness and flavor. I was astounded. Be sure to bring guests, and expect a lot of food. It's definitely worth it.
