Stopped by NoMad Diner at Arlo NoMad and had a great experience. Jay made sure everything was running smoothly and the hospitality was on point, while Max behind the bar delivered excellent drinks and great service. The whole experience felt welcoming and well taken care of. Definitely worth stopping in.
A clear tourist trap, i guess i should have known since the restaurant is inside a hotel but that doesn’t always mean it’s going to be a sub par experience. Anyway the breakfast sandwich was $19 and it came with half of 1 piece of bacon and the sandwich was incredibly small. Not even close to a true BEC from a deli. The potatoes were good. I just felt cheated with the half piece of bacon and the size of the sandwich. Felt like a slap in the face. I wouldn’t recommend eating here under any circumstance considering everything else the city has to offer.
We had a great experience at the NoMad Diner! The drinks made by Max were excellent. He even made me a mezcal drink off the menu that was delicious. Food was also excellent. Definitely come to visit Max at the bar. You will love it.
This isn't a typical diner. it's in a hotel. I worked in the area for years & decided to try it. I stopped in at lunch, it was dead & ordered the meatloaf to go. I couldn't pay in cash. The meatloaf on the menu said it came with mashed potatoes & mustard greens. What i got was yellow squash, zucchini, & cauliflower (no mustard greens no mention of other vegetables from wait staff no one asked about allergies). Of course, I'm allergic to 2 out of 3 with it all dumped in layers in 1 container. As a NYC Local, I won't be back...the meatloaf was good, just gravy & ketchup drizzle together on top was strange all together with everything. Potatoes were good but on the soupy side. Que generic response from the owner with a sad apology and no comp. To give them a second chance....next time I wan
The prices are higher and the vibes are finer than your typical greasy spoon, but this IS Manhattan after all...Everything gets bougiefied because that seems to be the only way Manhattanites can eat food. (*Eye roll*) Come in with those expectations, and you'll be on the path to enjoyment. Our group of four started with a plate of Curly Disco Fries. They were delish, esp with the bougie upgrades of fontina cream and chicken gravy. My only quibble was there wasn't enough gravy. Sigh. As far as entrees went, we were all happy with our orders. The Diner Plate came with all the breakfast classics cooked well. Both Eggs Benedict (one with smoked salmon, the other with avocado) were scrumptious--namely because of the substitution of latkes for classic English muffins. Whoever thought of this
