I came to Nikko Sushi Izakaya with high expectations after hearing so many positive reviews, which may have shaped my experience. We waited an hour to be seated (Friday night, three people). They were slammed until closing. The service was attentive and friendly throughout the meal, but incredible busy. The staff kept everything moving smoothly even with the wait. The sushi itself was decent but did not stand out. The fish quality was fine, though not especially memorable. As someone who gravitates toward nigiri rather than specialty rolls, I found the nigiri selection somewhat limited and would have appreciated more variety. That said, the hand rolls were a highlight though our table doesn’t prefer them. Unexpectedly, my favorite part of the meal was dessert. The ube and vanilla ice cre

First time and damn good. Went for all you can eat sushi 🍣😋, $32.99 I think. The food was so good and fresh, if expect nothing less from a restaurant like this. 3 floors. Plenty of paid street parking, go early or make reservations as Nikko fills up fast. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Great for date nights or dinner with the family. We ate on the lower level during this visit. The music that was playing was extremely annoying, it was bad techno, dance, house music ... and I love those genres, but the music was so trash. Other than that fabulous experience.

Came here with my brother and had a great experience overall. We visited on a weekday around 5:30 pm and were seated immediately. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We did the AYCE option and most of the food was delicious. The nigiri stood out, fresh fish and the perfect amount of rice. The special rolls were good, except for the dynamite roll, which had too much cream cheese and overpowered the other flavors. We finished with ube and vanilla ice cream, which was amazing. The restaurant has a modern vibe. The only minor downside was the music being a bit loud and more club-like, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker. Overall, I would come back again!

It is the best AYCE sushi in Chicago! The foods not only look amazing but taste good! Will come back. I brought my friends here they said they would come back again! Also we can order dinner menu at lunch which is bonus to try the sushi bar!

4.5/5 Surprised at how good the food was. The edamame was fresh. The fish were fantastic 👌 Some of the best sushi I've had in the city. Took out half a star because the staff was mindless; I had to hail them down a few times. They need to learn to anticipate guest needs. Be very careful with the all you can eat, especially for the girls. We didn't order enough to fit the AYCE cost. In hindsight we should've ordered individual entres.
