Nikki's Place

We wanted to eat like locals and did just that! Nikki's Place is a nice stop on our tour of the area. The soul food menu was great. We enjoyed the southern items (neckbones, particularly)! The food portions were great, especially for the prices. Our table ordered 4 separate meals: 1. BBQ wings, w/ yellow rice, string beans and Mac n cheese with a corn muffin. 2. Dark fried chicken platter, yellow rice, collard greens and Mac n cheese with a corn muffin. 3. Fried cat fish, yellow rice, candied yams, collard greens and corn muffin. 4. Neckbones over white rice, cabbage, black eyed peas and a corn muffin.

I came here today with my boyfriend, I was visiting him to FL. and I was looking for some soul food. (Coming from Atlanta) I stay on soul food lol and I bumped into this suggestion through Google. And let me just say EVERYTHING and everyone was so inviting and the food was soooo delicious! Wish they had this place here in Atl. I can brutally say Nikki's has been the top #1 soul food I've had from every state I've tried and tasted this place has the trophy! Omg everything was so good! We visited Nikki’s Place yesterday around 10 a.m. The restaurant was surprisingly empty for a Saturday morning, but we decided to give it a try. Our waitress, Tokyo, was absolutely phenomenal, truly the best part of the entire experience. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and waffles with grits, and I ordered the pork chops with grits, a biscuit, and a side of catfish. The first red flag was being asked if we wanted to pay before or after our meal, something I’ve never experienced at a sit-down restaurant. We went ahead and paid, but unfortunately, that was the beginning of a disappointing experience. My boyfriend couldn’t even eat his meal, his waffle was burnt, and the chicken was not edible. Coming to Orlando to dog sit for my daughter's and found this treasure on Google. The service was the best and the food was perfect. Portions and flavor top tier. Definitely will visit again if I'm in the area also recommend.

Oh y'all did y'all thing for Sunday dinner! Niko was such a sweetheart on helping me figure out what to order. I forgot to post the meatloaf dinner for hubby and the cornbread muffins. I got the catfish dinner w/ yellow rice. That pineapple cake make you wanna slap somebody! These dinners were chef's kiss!
