Nicholls State University

For a college in Louisiana it's one of the cheapest and isn't terrible. I've went here since 2018 to get my master's degree. I've experienced plenty of different things, good and bad, on this college but I'd say the way this campus works is if you genuinely ignore the people who run the campus and only focus on school you'll get through it without a major issue outside of other students and the people you choose to interact with. I'll have very fond memories of being on campus from my time here. However the people who run the campus are very two faced, don't allow professors with DOCTORAL DEGREES to do research papers like any other college, will take any deal with a government official for a new building but can't be bothered, or have the funds to, renovate and when they do they overspen

After being there 4 and a half years (I graduated December 2024), I must certainly say, I loved this university! All the instructors were nice, the course content was understandable, they have a cafeteria, a fitness center, places to hang out and/or do your work, etc., and just like every other college, it’s where you can go and make new friends! After graduating, it just comes to show you how great college life can be. If there was a way to put 10+ stars on Google Maps, then I would. For those of you that are looking for colleges in Louisiana, I highly suggest for you to choose Nicholls State after reading this review. I promise you that you won’t be disappointed!

It’s average. I felt like the teachers and counselors kind of tell you whatever will please you rather than honest truth to guide you. I don’t regret attending college but I do regret who I placed my trust in for guidance. I regret not having more of a back bone when saying no or I don’t agree with what you’re saying about possible degree options. The environment is very nice. It’s a well kept campus. It feels safe. The technology is well updated. The professors are nice and do try to accommodate the students. The major thing I’d change is when students come in with concerns over their majors / degrees it’s taken more seriously and not brushed off.

Beautiful, friendly, peaceful.....I love it here and my son does too.
