Newby Country Store

I can’t believe that we have lived in the area for over 30 years and I’ve never visited this nice little country store outside of Richmond. Enjoyed the drive and took the ferry across the Kentucky river and drove about 6 miles to get to the store. It’s been around since the 1890s And of course has gone through some remodels, but they still don’t have running water and they offer a number of unique drinks and chips and they have handmade soaps and handmade fudge. The gals running the store were very very friendly. We even bought a souvenir shirt for my wife. It was well worth our time.

Cute out of the way , little country store . The lady that was working , school teacher , was fabulous ! She was kind , professional and caring . Great selection of old time sodas , chips , and homemade sandwiches . The older 93 year old friend I took , really enjoyed it . Stated it reminded him of when he was younger.

This was sweet find after we found our way up a beautiful wooded road. The fudge comes with a tiny plastic spoon and is amazing! We sat in the car looking at the sweet country scenery, inhaling the fudge. You can pick up sandwiches for lunch and have a picnic. They have days where there’s live music and the community comes together. The lady running the register was delightful and you just really felt like you were in a true country store. Will definitely be back!

Wow. What a Great spot! It's like visiting the past. Loved it! It's also very cool to see the building is leaning to the left a bit. I thought that was just my eyes playing tricks, but they actually mentioned to me how the building really is leaning a bit. Like the Pisa Tower 😂. Anyway, it was a good quick stop. Will definitely stop by again.

I visited for the first time recently and LOVED the country charm (atmosphere AND people)! Can't wait to go back ❤️
