NCMA Cafe--West

The NCMA Cafe is located inside the West Building of the NC Art Museum. It has taken over where Iris used to be, which closed during COVID. In the back of the restaurant is where they put coffee/tea/wine/snacks location. So people who want to order a drink or snack need to go through the restaurant to buy that. The new layout made it noisy and the tables are closer together than before.It is to your right as you enter the building. It is on the smaller side, so reservations are recommended. I like that the menu changes seasonally. The menu has expanded since the cafe opened. On my last visit, I had the seasonal salad and added grilled shrimp. I loved the combinations in it. Had a reservation with my partner last weekend. Kaira is one of the hostess, very welcoming energy. She is QUICK, We adore her! She was versatile with her work. Welcoming guests, sitting them down, busting tables. Hello, you get the memo. Our server was Kate, and she was super sweet and attentive. It’s spring time, so it was busy but they did AMAZING accommodating everyone, and did a great job serving us. Hanif is one of the supervisors and he was also assisting our table & those around. Definitely a team effort, felt like a family. My recommendations are either the Shrimp & Grits , or the wrap. The fries are fireee! Love love love this place, and will be returning… many times :)
