Native Restaurant and Lounge

Yesterday was my first visit to Native for a simple girls catch up. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the lovely hostess, and immediately sat with one of my friends near the bar as we waited for our other 2 friends. The vibe was very grown, fun. The food was amazing; I got the Ewa Riro *Chef’s kiss*, with a glass of Rosé. The music was great, made us feel like we were back in undergrad (much appreciated because we miss it bad lol). I’ll be back for sure. Oh yeah, photographer did her big one. Thank you!

This place is so underrated. The vibe is actually amazing. It is right on Broadway and every time I go it is never crowded, which blows my mind because it deserves a packed house. They have themed nights Monday through Friday, the food is on point, and the drinks are strong and good. It is a West African restaurant and they also have a location on 125th Street. Mondays are karaoke night and it is always a good time. More people need to put this spot on their list.

My waiter was Ola. He was really making the night worth coming out. He was pleasant and energetic. He was also very sweet. Definitely have to come back. I had the Pounded yam with Egusi soup (I had mixed meat). My friend had the Jollof Spaghetti with Salmon (I obviously had to take a bite from the food). For drinks we had the Ziti Bo (hibiscus, ginger juice and pineapple juice!) It was all delicious. I don’t know which was better the drinks, the food, or the music!!!!! All was a great experience.

Great atmosphere, is you like music while you’re eating you definitely should go here, Dj was smooth, played Afrobeat and afrobeats, R&B, dancehall reggae, some vibe’s,the drinks were good , starters do take a while to come out but it’s worth the wait 20-25 minutes, had a native salad , crispy calamari, Mac and cheese, our server Ola did an amazing service, he checked on timing for everything and came back with updates, for our main we had lamb chops and jollof rice, pan seared salmon with asparagus, a asta dish as well I’d like to say like a Rasta pasta, all of them tasted great, a person who seemed to be the manager was great as well I didn’t get his name, definitely will be going back

It wasn’t my vibe but it was cool. If u are into loud music, hookah, and females twerking at their table then “welcome home”! Food was good, very flavorful, drinks were great, service pretty good. Some negatives: we were a group of 9 and we were REAAL close to one another. Also the photo op was behind booths that was occupied the entire time. Also the bathroom was neglected not too dirty but garbage overflowing.
