My Donkatsu 마이돈까스

I don't have tonkatsu or chicken katsu at restaurants often because I've found that most chicken katsu disappoints me, but not theirs!! I was pleasantly surprised. My friend and I found this spot on a whim as they were craving some to katsu. I got the chicken katsu, and it was so flavorful and fried to perfection. I absolutely loved how the chicken was cut and fried in smaller pieces, as opposed to longer strips that appear in other stores. Another huge plus for me was their tonkatsu sauce. It went so well with the katsu and I even had to ask for a refill. The service was great as well, the madame that served us was so cute and sweet. We will definitely be back again!

Believe the hype. As a Korean American foodie (also long stints in Seoul), this place was truly delicious. Extra chewy on the inside. Extra crispy and flaky on the outside. The sauces were also a fresh and quirky take on Latinx/Japanese/Korean fusion. Portion sizes are slightly small. Service is a bit gruff though the older Korean American woman who serves is usually friendly--especially if you chat with her a bit in Korean. The owner/possibly cook? in the back is not especially friendly (when I had to go back to find my phone I though I misplaced). The atmosphere is cute and K-poppy where patrons can write stuff on the walls. It's the kind of "hole in the wall" (albeit on one of the busier parts of K-town & Olympic) you tell your friends about. I've had a Pork Belly Katsu and it was very delightful. The portion sizes at My Donkatsu would seem very moderate compare to other establishments in Koreatown but the attention to detail on the taste puts it at one of the best katsu places I've been to in Koreatown. The sauces and the miso soup compliments the katsu very well as it helps to cut down on the rich flavor. Interior has a very welcoming vibe to it. Previous visitors to the restaurant left comments, and pictures to add onto the vibe. Our needs were attended to by an older lady and she was very courteous throughout my visit. If you feel like eating katsu and want to feel like you're eating at home, I would recommend you to this place.

The pork belly 돈까스 is a must try. I can't go back to regular pork version. Best 돈까스 in LA. Wako is walking distance away, but I'd rather come here. The side dishes are also very tasty and unique. Pickles veggies are great complement. That Jalapeño green sauce is awesome (cridp and tangy) along with classic brown sweet sauce. The service is great. The owner/chef is a very nice lady. Small and quaint but pleasant dining space. The only real challenge is parking so try to find street parking near by. Or come at less busy times.

OMG Why did I only find out about this place now?!! I’m a regular at Kagura in Torrence. And honestly, Donkatsu tastes almost identical in the best way. The pork belly katsu was incredible. And my friend's cheese Katsu was also really good. Side dishes are all savory. I can confidently say there’s no better pork cutlet in all of LA.
