I love Jamaican food I’m all about Supporting black businesses. I truly hate that I don’t live in Charlotte anymore because there’s no legit Jamaican spots here. The first time I went, I got the large soup $16. I thought that was a little crazy but it’s whatever let’s try. Today I got a medium soup nine dollars, and it was nothing but broth, a bone and half a piece of corn. I called you know to let them know and of course she stayed at oh I know when I made your soup because she knows who I am not sure how but I know I put me in your soup. No, you didn’t. Just wow.

I moved to North Carolina October 2025 from Washington DC. There are no decent restaurants, especially Jamaican. Finally daughter put me on to Jerk Masters and I was finally satisfied. Hands down the BEST oxtail EVER! The sides were even tasty. What was most surprising the staff was pleasant! So I took a weekly trip an hour drive to get some decent food. Then yesterday I drive to get my weekly meal and I find out that they abruptly they closed.Which leads me to thie review. Mum's was average at best. I decided to get jerk chicken because I'm trying to fall back off of red meat. The chicken was bad, large portion of food but the jerk sauce on the side was NOT the authentic jerk sauce. The chicken was seasoned but a little dry and needed some sauce but that sauce ruined the chicken. It was

I just left this place and when I tell you, I was not impressed at all this time. I have gotten food here before and have given them plenty of service but I hadn’t been in year or so. My husband also gets vitamins and different supplements for me from there. First let’s start of that the lady preparing my food was very rude. Being my that I’m have cancer and I’m also a pescatarian, I don’t eat meat other than fish and seafood. She asked if I wanted gravy and I asked what it had in it and she said “meat” with an attitude. A when I said do you have gravy without meat because I can’t eat anything other than fish. She proceeds to not answer my question, roll her eyes and walk over to the vegetables to ask me what else I wanted. Just her whole tone and that snappy attitude disgusted me. On top

In the heart of a bustling area, where the charm of a grocery store meets the warmth of a family kitchen, lies Mums Jamaican Restaurant. This hidden gem, doubling as a grocery, invites patrons to walk up and order, promising a culinary journey to the heart of Jamaica. Upon entry, the aroma of spices and herbs wafts through the air, leading to an array of dishes that are nothing short of a delight. The jerk chicken, a quintessential Jamaican staple, strikes a perfect balance - tender, with just enough spice to tickle the palate without overwhelming it. Beside it, the curry chicken stands out with its deep, complex flavors, each bite transporting you to the streets of Kingston. The sides, often an afterthought in many eateries, shine equally here. The mac and cheese is a creamy dream, rich

Good, flavorful Jamaican food. I had the stew peas and my daughter had the curried chicken. I cleaned my plate! My daughter saved some for lunch the next day. They also have a grocery area to get your Jamaican snacks and beverages. The prices are fair too. It’s casual dining so it’s for everyday eating, not like going on a date. Clean cafeteria style with reggae music playing. Not instagrammable.
