absolutely abhorrent - I’ve never had to chew more than twice to eat brisket, and here I am chewing a slice of brisket almost as if it’s a pan fried piece of chuck roast beef. It’s overcooked, with no tasteful crust, and worst of all, chewy…. The sausage felt artificial at best, almost as if it was from a package and microwaved. The sides were subpar at best… Overall, the bbq lacked depth, but the chewiness of the brisket was the nail in the coffin. At least the ambiance was picturesque and cozy. I’ve never written a review for BBQ (and I’ve eaten at a ton of BBQ joints), but here I am. All I could think while eating that brisket, was how terrified I was to run into another place with similar chewiness. This is an unforgettable place, a true cultural experience. We came about 11:30 on a Friday, and the restaurant was mobbed! We stood in a long line to order and pay at the counter, but the line moved quickly. We ordered our meals, the chicken plate and the brisket plate, and we were lucky to find a table. Our food was delivered in just a few minutes. The meat was very, very good, and I loved my green beans. The potato salad was too sweet for me, but that’s a personal preference. We finished up with a piece of incredible chocolate cake, and omg it was delicious. The decor is whimsical and fun. I especially love the mural of the pig on the wall. Some of the best BBQ I have ever had. Neat little place with lots of history. Ricky and Keith were extremely friendly and welcoming. My wife and I got the three meat plates. The brisket was tinder and juicy and not too Smokey, sausage was excellent as well as the delicious ribs. I cheated and added a leg quarter and was not disappointed. For the sides I highly recommend the green beans, your pallet will thank you. I also had the (sweet) potato salad. I have never had sugary potato salad. It was great! We tried the chocolate cake and wow! To top it all off we didn’t break the bank. Come and check this place out.

A true hidden gem! The BBQ was fantastic—some of the best I’ve had in a while. I tried the brisket, sausage, potato salad, and green beans. The meat had great flavor, and the green beans were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had! The potato salad and BBQ sauce were a little on the sweet side for my taste, but still delicious—I cleaned my plate. And don’t skip the lemon cake… it was the perfect finish!
